Mauritania: Sahel youths brainstorm on pressing issues

Youths from Africa have urged their governments to help end poverty, mass unemployment and the harmful effects of climate change.

The call was made during a conference in Mauritania’s capital Nouakchott which brought together participants from the diaspora, Sahel and Maghreb regions.

“What we have witnessed here has been a fruitful dialogue sometimes tough but fruitful because it is intended to find questions to pressing issues in the region especially those which directly affect the youth,” a Sahel region expert, Mamadou Diouf said.
