Zambia Faith Leader Working for Dissemination of Weather and Climate Information
Government says faith based organisations have an important role to play in disseminating information on weather and climate change.
Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs, Godfridah Sumaili says citizens must be given timely and accurate information on weather and climate which play a critical role in planning for various sectors of the country.
Reverend Sumaili said this when she officiated at a faith based workshop on weather and climate information dissemination organised by the Metrological Department in Lusaka today.
The Minister said Government appreciates the contribution of faith based organisations to poverty reduction, provision of health services and education.
Mrs. Sumaili has called on the clergy in the country to actively participate in disseminating information on weather and climate change to their members especially in rural areas.
She added that her Ministry wants to strengthen partnership with faith based organisations in the country.
