Zimbabwean Farmers Claim Inability to Access Command Agriculture

Despite government claims that its $500m command agriculture programme has been a roaring success, farmers registered for the scheme here are crying foul over delays in accessing seed, fuel and tractors for tillage.

The deadline for receiving the inputs was October 15.

Farmers who had registered for the scheme in Igava in Marondera claim that they are yet to receive any inputs adding that efforts to get assistance from Mashonaland East ministry of agriculture officials have not brought any joy.
