Solar Project Funded in Northern Mali

A solar lighting project is bringing needed succour to beleaguered citizens of Northern Mali as residents in the region, especially the rural areas can now power homes and other activities with the use of this energy source.

TVC’s Niyi Oyelowo reports that Kidal Town located in Northern Mali has seen its fair share of conflict involving Tuareg and Islamist groups with the scenario not abating any time soon.

The problem is further increased with lack of government representation in Kidal since 2014 following the killing of soldiers by Tuareg rebels.

With this in mind It would be the most unlikely of places to locate a solar power project designed to benefit much of the populace who have been without basic electricity for sometime now.
