Israel Trains Kenyans on New Irrigation Technologies
The Israeli government has trained 50 Kenyans on modern irrigation technologies and intensive agriculture to boost Kenya’s food production, Water CS Eugene Wamalwa (pictured) said recently.
Wamalwa said 99 others are currently on the scholarship programme. The CS said this will bolster Kenya’s capacity to embrace modern irrigation farming.
The first group was trained in February for a month. The second was picked last month for training on dryland farming. Those selected are mainly from the Kenya Water Institute. He spoke during the institute’s graduation of water technologists. The programme will continue for six years.
