Support for Dar es Salaam Farmers Venturing Into Greenhouse Farming

Yetu Microfinance has partnered with Greentek Group Company to introduce agro leasing product for changing small-scale farmers' mindset from amateur to high technology farming practices in which more than 200 farmers are set to benefit.

Through the product farmers will be trained on green house farming practice and get loans for them to start practising it. Yetu Microfinance Managing Director, Mr Altemius Millinga, said in Dar es Salaam that they want to change youth mindset towards farming for them to consider it as a better and profitable job.

"We want them to be professional farmers in which up to July, next year, those 200 will already be pioneers, we have set aside more than 2bn/- to support small scale farmers who will start practice green house farming," he noted.
