African Forestry Experts to Meet in Kenya Over Climate Change

The African Forest and Wildlife Commission (AFWC) said the meeting will help show-case African forests and wildlife and their contribution to economic and social development in the continent, especially in the face of challenges posed by the current global financial and food crises and the impacts of climate change.

“The event will thus show-case African forests and wildlife and their contribution to economic and social development in the continent, especially in the face of challenges posed by the current global financial and food crises and the impacts of climate change,” AFWC said in a statement on Friday.

The meeting which begins on Monday will provide an opportunity for forest and wildlife managers and custodians of related natural resources to exchange knowledge, information and experiences to help inform policy at national and sub-regional levels.
