JOHANNESBURG - Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa says climate change poses one of the most serious threats against Africa’s long-term sustainability, economic growth and the quality of life of its people. Yesterday, Molewa delivered a public lecture on climate change at the University of Johannesburg ahead of the COP21 Conference at the end of the year. She says climate change threatens to undermine government’s developmental gains.

Her remarks on climate change follows a study by the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research that shows that Africa is currently experiencing one of its hottest years ever.
