The development of energy sector determines economic advancement of a country. The secret behind the prosperity of the advanced world is the full exploration and exploitation of their energy sector that propelled the growth of other economic sectors.
Nevertheless, the carbon intensive economic growth witnessed by the industrial countries for the last 150 years takes the lion's share for the current global warming and climate change. Currently, the issue of climate change has been a pre-occupation for the international community and since 1972 countries have tried to formulate solutions through negotiations and the United Nation has been playing pivotal role in this regard.
Though Ethiopia, as a developing country, has insignificant contribution to climate change, it determined to resolve the problem and since the Rio summit which held on climate negotiation in 1994.
