Darkness or the clattering sound of a diesel-powered generator – these are the only options for many Nigerians. A young Nigerian says he has found a solution to the country's energy crisis: potatoes.

With the tuber, Alabi Olusola says he can power lightbulbs among other things. The 33-year-old claims not to have paid an electricity bill since he discovered how to harness the power of nature.
