Kenyan Farmers to Benefit From Irrigation Project
Small scale horticulture farmers in Laikipia County are set to receive a boost following the launch of water saving irrigation technology system by the County Government.
The project, which has been allotted Ksh 11 million, will be used to expand water pans and avoid siltation of dams during this short rain season so as to preserve water for the dry season.
Speaking to Citizen TV, Laikipa County Executive Committee (CEC) member in charge of agriculture and livestock, Jane Putunoi said that the initiative also aimed at boosting irrigation in various areas where farmers practice horticultural farming adding that there is need to support farmers in every possible way.
