Zambian VP Praises Conservation Farming to Combat Climate Change
Vice President Inonge Wina says conservation farming provides the best option of overcoming the negative effects of Climate Change.
Mrs. Wina says farmers should seriously take up conservation farming so that they increase crop yields and help meet the rising demand for maize in the region.
She said this in a speech read for her by the Deputy Minister in the Office of the Vice President Lawrence Sichalwe.
This was during the National Field Day on Conservation Farming in Mumbwa District.
Meanwhile, Conservation Farming Unit Executive Director, Collins Nkatiko said he is grateful to Government for making Zambia the first country in Africa to adopt conservation farming as a policy matter.
