Climate change calls for concerted efforts
CLIMATE change is the biggest threat that the world is facing today. There is need to seriously invest in environmental research if we are to reverse some of the damage caused by this scourge in Zambia.
Climate change is a reality and we are living with its consequences and, therefore, this calls for urgent attention from various stakeholders. Global warming which causes climate change, refers to the rise in average surface temperatures on earth.
It is caused by the increase in levels of carbon dioxide and other polluting gases that trap heat by forming a blanket around the earth, resulting in a greenhouse effect. Thus environmentalists call these types of gases as greenhouse gases.
